Having grown up in the suburbs, I thought I "knew" the city when I moved there to attend the Corcoran. After spending the next five years absorbed in it, I realized how little I really knew. I still love to call DC my home.

My parents would often take us kids to the Outer Banks to vacation in the summer when we were young. I have always been struck by the natural beauty of the surrounding areas, and am glad to call the area my most recent home.

These images are from a 2007 Cultural Studies Class I participated in. We spent a month learning from the people in the remote region of Ladakh. The northernmost state in India, and surrounded by the Himalayas, the Buddhist culture there closely resembles Tibet.
